Beautiful Welsh Borders Location
Parelli UK have acquired the use of a substantial and prestigious equestrian complex in the beautiful Welsh border area of North Wales, close to Chester. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in furthering the understanding of horse behaviour and raising the level of horsemanship in the UK and around the world, via Equine Ethology.
With these new facilities it will now be possible to further develop the range and number of courses, and the instructor training programme, and operate all year round. This is in line with members feedback, who over time have been asking for a more central location, better all year round facilities and on site accommodation.
The Facilities
The new equestrian facilities occupy a 70-acre site in a remote but totally accessible area of North Wales, close to Chester. There is stabling for 25 horses and a 40 acre cross country course consisting of 21 well built and varied fences, including ditches and water, with options for novices and the more experienced. The indoor school is 25m x 60m and has rest and hospitality facilities. The outdoor sand arena is 40m x 45m and there is also a fenced grass arena approximately 110m x 30m, both of which are floodlit. The centre will develop an area for the play park consisting of obstacles, challenges and the round pen honeycomb.
Accommodation
One of the main benefits is that there is accommodation for owners on site. This consists of 10 bedrooms, four single rooms, four twin rooms and two family rooms and a 2 bed roomed VIP/family annex. The potential that this facility offers will enable Parelli UK to provide their members with the support they need on their horsemanship journey.
Opportunities for students...
The exciting opportunity that this new centre offers includes leasing horses for courses, tournaments, regular demonstrations, instructor training and long term courses. The combination of equestrian and hospitality facilities, together with the quality and depth of horsemanship training available and the unique ambience and atmosphere, will make studying at the National Equine Ethology Centre the ultimate horsemanship experience.
The Welsh College of Horticulture
With the move to North Wales, Parelli UK will no longer be under the catchment area for the Duchy College and therefore, from 13 June 2005, all Equine Ethology courses run at the National Equine Ethology Centre will be in conjunction with the Welsh College of Horticulture.
Brinsbury College (Sussex)
Rio Lawson-Baker will also be running Equine Ethology courses together with Brinsbury College (Sussex) in the near future.
