The French Federation have expressed great interest in working with The British Equestrian Federation to define a pan-European standard for Equine Ethology 'Natural Horsemanship'. When this happens, a standard qualification for instructors across Europe will be created. Equine Ethology is the first organisation to work to set a European standard for its methods of horsemanship. Other Natural Horsemanship organisations will have the opportunity to work to that standard. This means that students will have the choice of which organisation they wish to train with. However, all instructors will have standard training to enable them to provide a service.
What needs to be achieved currently, is the definition of the standard and the requirements for the instructors to ensure the current high standard of coaching in Natural Horsemanship continues - but with Federation approval.
The challenge for Natural Horsemanship has been to combine natural horsemanship methods with recognised and highly-effective training methods of top equestrians in Europe and around the world - such as the famous French dressage trainer, Michel Enrique. The Federation in France have embraced the Parelli methods owing to the huge success they achieved in the Athens Olympics. A natural horsemanship training programme offers everyone the opportunity to better understand their horses and, in better understanding, better performance and a better relationship is realised - between horse and rider. |
