EQUINETOURISM.CO.UK - Worldwide - MONGOLIA HORSE RIDING HOLIDAYS
Equinetourism.co.uk Mongolia
Mongolia is an amazing place to visit – the appeal is its simple, welcoming people and vast, natural environment which is largely unspoilt by development or tourism. For most foreigners, the big attraction of Mongolia is the chance to view the grasslands, which are home to sheep, goats, cattle and the famous Mongolian horses and Bactrian camels. This is a nomadic people who, to date, have survived the modern pressures and lifestyles. There is no other nation in the world where so much depends on horses. The Mongol horsemanship is famous, and strikingly different to anything else. The herders keep their horses in a semi-wild condition, allowing them to live freely in harem groups. During the harsh winter in subzero temperatures, the horses are able to fend for themselves and protect their foals against predators such as wolves. There are no fences or any stables anywhere. Zavkhan Trekking
Run by John Williamson, a Member of The Long Riders' Guild

Zavkhan Trekking takes small groups into one of the more remote regions of Mongolia, travelling by horseback. We explore the forests and valleys of Zavkhan, far to the west of Ulaan Baatar. This is an adventure not a holiday! Enjoy the legendary hospitality of local nomadic people, gallop across open steppe, ride high into the mountains, relax by the side of a remote desert lake.

Equitours in Mongolia
Mongolia is certainly one of the world’s most exotic destinations and horses probably play a more important part in the economy and culture of the country than any other place in the world. Genghis Khan rode out from these plains and mountains to form one of the world’s great empires. The roads are hopelessly bad and horses are definitely the best way to get around this fascinating country.
