What you need to know before you start Horse Agility
All horses and ponies must be registered with the Horse Agility Club of Great Britain.
Competitors must be aware of the Rules and Regulations of the Horse Agility Club of Great Britain. (A list of Rules and Regulations and registration forms are available from The Horse Agility Club of Great Britain)
All horses and competitors must carry their own insurance.
Horses and ponies must be at least two years old to compete there is no upper age limit. For physical safety and emotional stability it is recommended that horses do not start training until at least 18 months old though elements of the obstacles can be introduced as part of daily routine, eg. Leading through a trailer, tying up etc.
No horse under 3 years of age can compete above First Level.
Horses must be measured and enter in the correct height category. (for horses over four years old the passport height if recorded is usually sufficient)
At least 12 obstacles plus the run/walk section part of the competition are laid out in an enclosed arena which encourages spectators.
No previous experience is necessary but attending courses and play-days affiliated to the Horse Agility Club of Great Britain will prepare you and your horse to play safely while you train.
*You will need to be a member of the Horse Agility Club GB to take part in training days and events - Membership can be purchased online or on the day.
