Moorhouse Farm Campsite - Dogs Welcome |
Moorhouse is a small family run site at Holford, approximately 10 miles west of Bridgwater. It is situated at the foot of the picturesque Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is an ideal site for those wishing to explore the area or simply enjoy a quiet break in the countryside. Dogs are welcome.
Convenient Location
Moorhouse Farm is situated just off the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead, in a quiet but accessible location. There are pubs within walking distance at Holford and Kilve. Kilve has a post office and store. More shops, pubs and restaurants can be found a short drive away in West Quantoxhead, Stogursey and Nether Stowey.
Beautiful surroundings
The Quantock Hills offer marvellous walking, and horse riding, on a huge network of footpaths, tracks and bridleways with the opportunity to see many species of birds and flowers and herds of Quantock Ponies and red deer. There are spectacular views over the Bristol Channel to Wales and the Brecon Beacons, west to Exmoor and south to the Blackdown Hills and the Vale of Taunton, as well as steep wooded combes to explore.
Other places to visit
There are local beaches at Kilve and Lilstock. Dunster Castle, Minehead, Exmoor, the West Somerset Steam Railway, Cheddar Gorge and Weston-super-Mare are all within easy reach. Taunton, the county town, is half an hour away.

The Quantock Hills |
The Quantock Hills are 12 miles long and on average 3 miles wide. This area of outstanding natural beauty encompasses rolling hills, farmland, wooded combes, large forestry plantations and wide areas of heather, gorse and bracken.
There is an abundance of wildlife including Red Deer and many birds, including the Nightjar which comes from Africa around mid May.

The Moorhouse Farm Campsite |
The Moorhouse Farm Campsite has large well spaced pitches in a 2.5 acre location, with plenty of shade. There are full toilet and shower facilites. Dogs are welcome.
There are no static caravans at Moorhouse Farm Campsite. Secure Caravan storage is available and group bookings are welcome.

Calor Gas for sale on site. The Moorhouse Farm Campsite is open from March to November.
Activites
The Moorhouse Farm Campsite is ideally situated for a variety of activities: walking; cycling; and horse riding. The paths and tracks on the Quantock Hills provide miles of safe walking, cycling and horse riding. Horse riding available locally.
Local Amenities
There is a shop and post office in Kilve, within walking distance. At West Quantoxhead there is a shop and petrol station. Stogursey and Nether Stowey have a variety of shops and post offices. There is another petrol station at Keenthorne.
