Wood is a small, family-run working farm set in the beautiful rolling
hills on the Somerset and Devon border. The views from the cottages
are glorious & reach to the Blackdown Hills. The tranquillity
is almost tangible whatever the season.

Accommodation
at Stawley Wood Farm
Three
cottages have been sensitively converted from an original but redundant
farm building, dating from the 15th century.
The cottages are unusual in that the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs
with the daily living area upstairs.
All the cottages are English Tourist Board 4 star awarded.
The cottages
are all cosy, yet light and airy and full of charm. Each has double
glazing throughout and a traditional wood burner upstairs. A supply
of logs is provided and more can be purchased from the owners as
required.In places, 500
year-old beams and original stone walls add to the character. All
cottages are fitted to the same high standard.Upstairs, each
cottage is open-plan with a wood-effect floor, attractive, functional
window shutters, high ceilings and beautifully-equipped kitchen
and dining area.The
kitchens
Each
kitchen has a fridge, microwave and electric cooker with fan-assisted
oven and separate grill. Shippon and Cider cottages each have dishwashers.The
living areas
All
of the sitting rooms are well equipped with TV, video, music system
and a sofa bed for extra guests.The
bedrooms
The bedrooms are carpeted and electrically heated. Every bath/shower
room has underfloor heating.
Laundry
facilities
Every cottage has a washing machine. In the communal drying room
there is a freezer and tumble dryer.

Bed linen and towels are provided together with cleaning materials.
A welcome supply of tea and coffee will greet you upon your arrival
to help you unwind, relax and enjoy your countryside experience. |

Outside
From
a large, adjacent car park to the north of the cottages (from where
a well-marked countryside walk is accessible), the front doors lead
into the open plan living rooms. Downstairs, the bedrooms and bathroom
open into a large enclosed South-facing courtyard, which is a real
suntrap.

Has two bedrooms and has been adapted for wheelchair use. A stair
lift enables ease of access to and from the ground floor.

for the whole, extended family!
All the cottages are interlinked with soundproofed, fireproofed
and independently locked double doors. The cottages can be joined
together so can sleep four, six, eight, ten, twelve or eighteen
people (including sofabeds).

DIRECTIONS
to Stawley Wood Farm
Exit M5 at J26, head towards Wellington then
follow signs to Exeter on A38. Turn right to Greenham at beginning
of first dual carriageway. After 2.5 miles at Appley Cross, turn right
signed to the Globe. Next left signed to Stawley (Before the Globe).
Remain on this lane for one and a half miles, through the small village
of Stawley, down a dip then half way up a long hill the other side
turn right signposted 'Public Footpath' into Stawley Wood Farm drive.
