Horse holidays at Scatterbrook Farm, Exmoor

Set in 28 acres of beautiful undulating countryside, in an enviable position on the southern edge of Exmoor, Scatterbrook Farm is a tranquil retreat for horse riders - and their horses. There are breathtaking view northwards where the river Barle winds through the open moorland and deep oak-wooded coombes, including the ancient clapper bridge at Tarr Steps.

Bridleways, way-marked walks, trails and roads lead from Dulverton to the wild & beautiful high moors, with their abundant native wildlife - including the wild red deer and the famous Exmoor ponies.

For the horse rider, ScatterBrook Farm lies in the ideal location for you to enjoy some of the best riding that Exmoor has to offer - and you can ride all day. The farm offers excellent equestrian facilities and out riding opportunities with almost immediate access onto Anstey common and the sheltered woodlands along the Barle valley.

The farm is located just 2 miles from historic Dulverton, with its art galleries, shops, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs. It's fascinating architecture includes Sydenham Hall where Sir Francis Drake is said to have lived. It was the scene of much of "Lorna Doone", R.D.Blackmore'sfamous romantic novel and in more recent years it was the filming location for the blockbuster film "Land Girls"
