Self-catering Lodge at Hillway Farm with stabling and grazing

Hillway Lodge enjoys a unique situation in the heart of Exmoor National Park. Set within Hillway Farm, a 62 acre hill farm perched high above the Barle Valley, the Lodge has stunning views over the farmland to the moorland of Withypool Common. This area offers some of Exmoor's very best outriding, so is the perfect place to bring your horse - and dogs - on holiday.

Much of the farm is ancient, upland oak woodland. Guests can walk among carpets of bluebells, vilots and primroses. Look out for the small herds of roe deer and the buzzards which soar overhead. The River Barle, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, forms the southern boundary of the farm and is home to otters, kingfishers and goosander ducks.

Hillway Farm lies between the ancient monuments of Cow Castle and Tarr Steps, and is a truly tranquil spot. It provides the perfect base for walking, riding, birdwatching and painting. Stabling and grazing are available on request. There is immediate access to the moor, with miles of open country ahead of you. Walkers can explore the Two Moors Way, which passes the farm gate.
