Discover the peace and scenic beauty of the Exmoor National Park with its unspoilt moorland and spectacular coastline. Halse Farm is a small, quiet holiday park with campsite on a working sheep and beef farm. It is situated adjacent to the moor in the very heart of Exmoor National Park.

Halse Farm is situated in a unique and peaceful location with beautiful moorland views and a chance to see an abundance of wildlife including red deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards. There is also a large herd of wild Exmoor ponies and foals on the nearby Winsford Hill.
The area is a walkers paradise with moorland, woodland and riverside walks all starting and finishing at the farm. Laminated maps are available at the farmhouse reception for 6 circular walks from 2 to 12 miles in length.
The pretty village of Winsford is to be found just 1 mile away from the campsite and this has a shop, post office, tea gardens, parish Church, garage and tennis courts. The quaint Royal Oak Inn is within short walking distance of the campsite and provides bar and restaurant meals. Internet facilities can also be found at the Winsford Community Computer Centre. |

Facilities at Halse Farm |
Halse Farm offers a well-equipped campsite for touring caravans and tents with 10A electric hook up's and 50% hard standings.
It has a quality clean, heated toilet block, free hot water, showers, hair and hand driers and men's shaving points. There is also a disabled room with WC, basin and hot shower; baby changing facilities; laundry with coin operated washing machine, tumble drier and iron; and a chemical disposal unit.
Other facilities include a children's play area; information centre with payphone and brochures; Calor gas and Camping Gaz for sale; and an ice pack freezing service. Well behaved dogs are welcome, as long as they are kept under control and are not left unattended - they can be exercised on the nearby open moor. |

Halse Farm is ideally situated to explore Exmoor National Park and the surrounding area. Local places to visit include:
Dulverton (5 miles) - a small country town with quaint shops and a supermarket.
North Somerset and Devon Coast - Spectacular scenery and beaches to be found at Minehead, Porlock Weir, Lynmouth and Woolacombe.
National Trust Properties - Dunster Castle, Arlington Court and Selworthy.
Lorna Doone Valley
West Somerset Steam Railway - Minehead to Bishop's Lydeard
Tarr Steps (3 miles) - a prehistoric stone clapper bridge with stunning walks and views, as well as a pub for bar meals and a restaurant.

How to Find Halse Farm
From the A396 (Tiverton to Minehead Road).
Follow the brown caravan site signs from Bridgetown. Turn off left at 'Winsford' signpost. In the village, turn left and bear left past the Royal Oak Inn (NOT over the ford), Carry on for 1 mile up the hill and the entrance to Halse Farm is on the left just after the cattle grid.
Quickest route from Taunton (26 miles)
Only suitable for tents and 4x4 towed caravans due to long Elworthy Hill (1 in 6). Follow Minehead signs to A358 (Taunton to Minehead). After 3 miles, turn left under the railway bridge onto the B3224, signed Wheddon Cross and Exmoor. Keep straight on to Raleghs Cross Inn and, after 1 mile, turn right to Wheddon Cross. Turn left in the centre of Wheddon Cross onto the A396 and, after 6 miles, turn right to Winsford.
*Towed caravans should avoid the approach from Dulverton due to a narrow road. |
