Marian Bach became the home of Alan and Rose Brooke 23 years ago and has grown from a 10 acre smallholding to a 14 acre equestrian centre.

In 1987 Rose and Alan held a Cross Country competition after spending their first year designing and building the cross country course. Since then they have gained BHS approval, hold BHS Cross Country qualifiers each year, have BD approval and this year have opened their yard for full liveries. 2008 saw them receiving a certificate for outstanding performance as an approved centre from the British Horse Society.

In addition to the ever improving Cross Country course, Marian Bach now boasts a floodlit 20 x 40 metre outdoor arena and a 24 x 64 metre outdoor arena providing working-in and full competition facilities. Both Rose and Alan continue to ride their own horses. Their old horse Jack 28 y/o is happy retirement here. Desteny MB has competed to fly the Marian Bach Dressage flag in National competition and is now breeding. Her daughter Frolik Stonegrove, a 6 year old, is now starting competition at Prelim and Novice dressage.

Rose and Alan have a warm welcome ready for keen riders at any level wanting to experience the magic of Marian Bach.

Facilities at Marian Bach Equestrian Training Centre
The facilities at Marian Bach EC include two Dressage arenas, which are available for hirse and a BHS Approved Cross Country Course, which is also available for hire. Additionally, a full livery service is offered and now, visitors can bring their horses on holiday and enjoy both superb training and out riding.

Now you can bring your own horses to Marian Bach Equestrian Training Centre for an all round riding holiday!

Riders can stay in the self catering , two bedroom bungalow with bathroom, ktichen & lounge, while there is quality stabling for two horses.

Dressage is a speciality at Marian Bach, with both affiliated and unaffiliated competitions running throughout the summer months, an on-site qualified trainer and the use of two dressage arenas. There is great hacking, and quiet country lanes. And you can also use the BHS Approved Cross Country Course, which offers combinations from 18" to 3'3".

Marian Bach EC received British Dressage Approval in 2004 and the centre runs both affiliated and unaffiliated competitions twice a month from April to October.

The tests are held in the large arena (20 x 60) whilst the smaller arena (20x40) is for working in prior to competing. The surface in both arenas is of sand and Softrack rubber. White boards with flower pots at each corner enhance the appearance of the competition arena. British Dressage riders apply to BD for their entry forms and unaffiliated riders can download an entry form from the website. On the unaffilliated Wednesday evenings, riders should phone for their times on the Monday evening BEFORE the competition between 7pm and 9pm.

Dressage Awards
British Dressage Presentation The awards were presented by The Duchess of Richmond, President and Jennie Loriston Clarke, Chairman, for service to Dressage and we were the winners for the whole of Wales. The readers of the British Dressage Magazine voted for 2 awards for the quality of the facilities, and the timeliness of the production of the results, and for a volunteer award for services to dressage. We at Marian Bach would like to thank all the riders who assisted us in winning these awards.

Marian Bach holds British Dressage Affiliated Competitions

The BHS Approved Marian Bach Cross Country Course offers 10 acres of picturesque undulating countryside. There are forty plus varied jumps to suit any rider - from 1’ 6” to 3’3”.

Hire: The Cross Country Course is available for hire by the hour at £14 per horse and rider. The course can be booked for Pony Club training and groups of riders - rates negotiable.

Liveries
All the stables are 12’x12’ with rubber matting and dust free shavings for bedding. Stabling, grazing, feed, water and lighting are provided. Qualified riders are employed for schooling. There is a minimum charge of £100 per week depending on owners needs.
