Viva!
In markets across Poland, farm horses, foals and even children's ponies are sold to dealers and loaded into trucks - almost all to face a terrifying and painful journey to Italy where they will be slaughtered for meat. Every year, 30,000 horses leave Poland for the slaughterhouses of Italy. There is no rest, no water and no food for many on the road to misery - a five day journey across six countries. Viva!'s campaign has helped to save some 70,000 horses a year. With your help we can save the rest.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Reg Charity: 1068911
Redwings Horse Sanctuary was established in 1984 and is the UK's largest horse charity, with more than 1200 equines in its direct care and working to save horses, ponies, donkeys and mules whose future would otherwise be bleak. We investigate cases of cruelty countrywide and offer advice to horse owners. Our work is funded entirely through donations.

Every year we provide a safe, secure home for rescued animals who, through no fault of their own, have fallen upon difficult times and are in great need of our help and care. Whatever their story, we do everything within our power to help them. The Charity’s base, which is in Norfolk, includes our specialist veterinary team and equine hospital, welfare team, equine reception, rehabilitation and rehoming teams and administration. We currently have Visitor Centres in Norfolk, Suffolk and Warwickshire and are a nationwide organisation. As a charity our work is funded wholly by donations from individuals such as yourself. With your support we can achieve more.
There are many ways you can help – you may like to make a one off donation, set up a regular standing order payment, adopt one of horses or make a purchase from our extensive range of gifts. Whichever way you choose to help, we thank you.

World Horse Welfare (formerly ILPH)
Reg Charity:
206658
The mission of the World Horse Welfare is to protect horses from abuse and alleviate their suffering by rehabilitating, campaigning and educating worldwide. Their vision is a world where the horse is used by never abused. World Horse Welfare works hard to improve the welfare standards of horses being transported and exported for slaughter; it runs four recovery and rehabilitation centres in the UK - where abused and neglected horses are cared for and rehomed, wherever possible, in loving homes; and it works with communities in the developing world to provide education to improve the general welfare of equines. For more information on the work of the World Horse Welfare please visit www.ilph.org.

Canterbury Horse Rescue Centre
Reg Charity no: 1101452
The Canterbury Horse Rescue Centre, established by Martin King, has been rescuing horses, ponies and donkeys for over 20 years. In addition to fighting for animal welfare, we provide an equine training establishment for children and adults. Our rescued horses then help humans to overcome their difficulties. As a training centre, we can provide the opportunity to succeed. We wish for every student to succeed within his or her capabilities. The Centre is now fundraising to improve its facilities and services so donations and help are very gratefully received.

The Donkey Sanctuary
Reg Charity: 264818 - over 11,900 donkeys rescued in the UK and Ireland
Free advice and support available on various donkey topics such as feeding, laminitis, caring for elderly donkeys...and much more. The aims of The Donkey Sanctuary are to prevent the suffering of donkeys worldwide through the provision of high quality, professional advice, training and support on donkey welfare. In the UK and Ireland permanent sanctuary is provided to any donkey in need of refuge. The Donkey Sanctuary was founded by Dr Elisabeth D Svendsen, MBE in 1969 and was registered as a charity in 1973. Just outside the town of Sidmouth, The Donkey Sanctuary is home to around 500 donkeys. Set in unspoilt farmland and countryside, visitors return time and again to meander among the donkeys and absorb the serene and relaxed surroundings. Help The Donkey Sanctuary stop cruelty to donkeys at a Spanish Festival...
The Donkey Sanctuary and its Spanish subsidiary, El Refugio del Burrito are running an email petition to campaign against a Spanish festival
which allows a donkey to be subjected to cruelty each year in the village of Villanueva de la Vera in Spain, despite a protective law being in place.

To date, over 500 colleagues and supporters have joined the campaign and we now hope you can help to increase this number? Please follow the link below for further information and to send the email petition form:-

Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Trust Lottery
Reg Charity: 1078685
The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance was launched on 23 March 2000 and has already completed over 2500 missions, a lot of them life saving. The Charity has to raise in excess of £80,000 per month to ensure that this vital service, a service which none of us know when we may need, continues to serve the counties of Dorset and Somerset. One of our main sources of regular funding (income needs to be consistent and regular) will come from our Lottery. We need you to become a member. Not only can you help to SAVE LIVES, but you also have the chance of winning one of the cash prizes every week, the jackpot being up to £1000. The money raised contributes greatly to the cost of the Air Ambulance operation and keeps it flying. To join, please telephone 01202 316575 and ask for a form.

Lluest Horse and Pony Trust - Horse & Pony Rescue Centre
Reg Charity no: 516674
Housing, feeding, shoeing and veterinary care require time, skill and money. Most owners love their horses and look after them well, but unfortunately a minority neglect their animals. Many end up at the Lluest Horse and Pony Trust, a rescue centre for horses, ponies and donkeys at a 40-acre farm on the west of the National Park. It aims to restore them to full health, and find new loving loan homes. Sadly, some never fully recover and remain at Lluest for life. The Trust normally has around 30 horses on its 40 acre farm between Llandeilo and Llandovery. It welcomes visitors, but asks them to ring first, 01550 740661.
