We have a large number of ornamental designs suitable for engraving on to draw fronts, cupboard doors, door panels etc, and for engraving as pictures. For example, horse’s heads, birds, trees, flowers, farm animals, dogs, cats, fish, fruit and vegetables - and we have many, many more designs to choose from. All the ornamental designs can be modified and manipulated to suit many purposes.
Celtic Art
We have quite a selection of Celtic Art that is suitable for engraving onto Polyester and Hardwood and then ‘Inlayed’ with resin filled with our bright metallic flakes or resin densely filled with Brass, bronze or copper powders.
Celtic art is associated with peoples known as 'Celts' in Europe. The stylistic richness of design, heavy with symbolism, it is believed that it is probable that the images were predecessors of those known to speak Celtic languages. Avoiding straight lines and occasionally using symmetry Celtic art is ornamental. We offer designs using Celtic Art, Ornamental Art, Animals, Birds, Flowers, Trees and a vast range of other designs for all sorts of uses. These can then be filled with a number of coloured and filled resins, please ring about this.

The perfect finishing touch to a house, gate, stable or yard is an elegant oak sign depicting the name of your property, business or horses. Ian Stuart Lyon creates top quality signs in long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing oak.
Style of Lettering: Lettering is carved in Relief or Engrave and is available in most fonts. Because the designs are initially created on a computer, most fonts can be used.
Shaped Boards and Border Styles: The boards themselves can be shaped to have a curved or straight edge and, if the lettering is Relief Carved, the border can be raised around the edge of the board, usually 10mm wide. Engraved signs can have a border engraved in 10mm from the edge.
CNC Machine: Using the CNC machine means that Ian is able to achieve an accurate, smooth finish to the lettering that, when finished with two coats of wood oil, gives an immaculate end result.
Brass Screws: It is important to use Brass screws when fixing your sign as the acid in the oak reacts to steel screws, resulting in black staining around the screw
Varnishing Although the usual finish for oak signs is wood oil, signs can be varnished if required. Letters can also be 'painted in' if preferred.
