The Sustainable Development Fund

From the Exmoor National Park Authority Sustainable Development Fund Information...

"We are all working to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of Exmoor and provide opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of these special qualities. At the same time, we are all striving to keep our communities vibrant and make sure that there are enough meaningful and appropriately rewarded jobs. A collective way of describing this is called Sustainable Development. The National Park Authority has a grant scheme to help you with projects that will look after Exmoor now and into the future. The Exmoor Sustainable Development Fund is available to any individuals, groups or businesses with ideas for projects that will benefit the Exmoor National Park area. These ideas should show new, innovative ways of living and working across Exmoor and preferably involve young people. Yet, applicants do not need to be located within the National Park. Any project proposal must clearly further National Park Purposes, demonstrate that other sources of funding have been sought, you are working in partnership with local communities and/or businesses and that you will enable others to learn from your project. The DEFRA Fund is administered by the National Park Authority. An Independent Panel of twelve people who live and work across Exmoor assess project proposals; they are even happy to work with projects to add their own expertise and local knowledge.

If you have an idea please complete and return a Project Ideas Form, on the Sustainable Development page of the ENPA website.
For further information people should contact National Park Authority on 01398 322235 to talk it through. Application forms are available from Exmoor House, Dulverton, Somerset TA22 9HL"
