Horse holidays at Waterhouse Farm, Exmoor National Park
Waterhouse Farm occupies a superb position in the heart of Exmoor, with glorious views over Withypool Common and the moor, and offers some of the very best out riding, off-road straight from the property. It is an ideal location to bring your horse on holiday - the farm has extensive stabling and an international-sized indoor school, where clinics are often held (including a Bettina Drummond dressage clinic!).

Guests can choose to stay at the farmhouse itself or at the 5-bedroom luxury farmhouse cottage, a short walk away in the beautiful village of Withypool, and located next to the famous Royal Oak Inn & Restaurant.
Waterhouse Farm - Everything for you and your horse to enjoy on Exmoor

Whether you are looking for a relaxing riding holiday exploring the virtually limitless out riding - or a venue to bring a group of riders in training who'd like to take advantage of the indoor school - as well as the breathtaking scenery - Waterhouse Farm offers a warm welcome and is happy to tailor holidays/facilities to suit your needs.

Exploration, Events, Escorted Rides, Gourmet Picnics - what more could you want...

Waterhouse Farm offers optional escorted rides with gourmet picnics. Equestrian facilities include full livery for your horse with comfortable stabling, ample grazing, cross country jumps and the international-sized indoor school. The out riding is glorious with bridleways leading out to a great variety of countryside, including the Barle river valley and the open moor. Waterhouse is often used as the 'halfway point' for the Golden Horseshoe endurance ride and is also perfectly located for Trec training.

For horse riders who prefer to 'go it alone' the new Exmoor Riding Routes offer 12 circular riding routes within Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills and laminated maps are available (from July 2005) to help you navigate the beautiful, scenic routes. Click here for more information.

Exmoor Ponies: Withypool Common and Winsford Hill are steeped in the history and heritage of the rare Exmoor pony breed and you can enjoy sitings of at least two free living herds in the area.

Masses to do: During the spring, summer and autumn, there are lots of horse shows, events, country shows, workshops, clinics and pleasure rides available in the Exmoor area. The competition centres of Stockland Lovell and Pontispool Farm are both within easy boxing distance. For more information on Events & Shows click here for the Equinetourism.co.uk equestrian events & shows listings. Local shows include Exford Show, Cutcome Show, Dunster Country Fair, Dunster Show and West Somerset Hunt Show. There are also numerous point to points in the area, with racing at Exeter, Newton Abbot and Taunton racecourses.

The Indoor Arena - Training & Development - for you and your horse...
While Waterhouse Farm offers the perfect environment for a relaxing holiday with your horse, it is also an ideal venue for Riding Clubs groups and teams in training, who want to develop their skills and work with their horses. The 50m x 22m indoor school has a new surface and offers gallery viewing. It's peaceful ambience makes it ideal for working with young or nervous horses.

The combination of international-sized indoor school, outstanding out riding and comfortable accommodation make this a wonderful place to improve your skills, confidence and partnership with your horses - and work with your favourite trainer at the same time. Waterhouse Farm can arrange for training, tuition, demonstrations or workshops if required. Alternatively, you may like to book your favourite trainer and hold the workshop here.

Bettina Drummond Dressage Clinic: In 2006, Waterhouse Farm hosted an exclusive Dressage Clinic by Bettina Drummond, the internationally-acclaimed dressage rider and dates are being finalised for Bettina's 2007 clinic.
