Horse Holiday Accommodation in the beautiful Quantock Hills |
Water Farm is the ideal base from which to explore the magnificent Quantock Hills (a designated area of outstanding natural beauty) and the nearby West Somerset Coast with its fossil-rich beaches. It offers farmhouse accomodation for visitors with spacious bedrooms, secure parking, stabling for horses and excellent grazing.
The local outriding is superb with miles and miles of safe and accessible bridleways within the Quantocks and these criss-cross open moorland (the views of South Wales, the Brecon Beacons, Exmoor and the Severn estuary are breathtaking), forestry and farmland. There are also plenty of meandering footpaths for walkers who can savour the peaceful atmosphere and keep an eye out for native wildlife, like red deer, buzzards and wild ponies. The farm is situated just 2 miles from Stockland Lovell, a fabulous equestrian centre with lots of modern facilities, including a cross country course and schooling arena.
The Coleridge Way is open to walkers and the intention is for the Quantocks to Exmoor Coleridge Way bridleway to be opened to horse riders in 2006.
For those who want to venture a little further afield, Water Farm is within a short drive of Exmoor National Park and there are interesting places for families to visit, from local attractions like 'Tropiquaria' and 'Animal Farm' to picturesque villages, such as Dunster with its ancient castle and Medieval High Street.
Water Farm has its own pet goats and they are friendly and always keen to meet visitors.
