17th century detached cottage with stabling and grazing

Friarnside is situated in a tiny hamlet in the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This charming part-17th century cottage is set in 7 acres of private garden and grounds with on site stabling, and adjacent to 27 miles of forest and moorland paths and bridleways for walking and horse riding. Stunning views from the Quantocks to Exmoor, the Bristol Channel, Wales and the Brecon Beacons and the Taunton Vale.

Within the surrounding area is the Great Wood Forest, home to Quantock Ponies and Red Deer. Nether Stowey (1.5 miles) offers pubs, a restaurant and village stores, Kilve (5 miles) has a pebble beach and cliff walks, and the regional towns of Bridgwater and Taunton are within 10 miles.

Friarnside is ideally situated for enjoying a spectacular country holiday with your horses and/or dogs. A new 36 mile walking route linking the Quantocks with Exmoor, the Coleridge Way, opened in April 2005. The local facilities include village stores, pubs and restaurants. Other attractions include the North Somerset coast, the South West coastal path (from Minehead), the West Somerset Steam Railway, Cheddar Caves, Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury to name but a few.
