Come and experience the great outdoors at Fordsdale Farmstay!
Situated in the Lockyer Valley, South of Gatton, Fordsdale Farmstay is just 90 min drive from Brisbane and two hours drive fom the Gold Coast. Offering 1000 acres of mountain grazing country and native bushland, it is a horse rider's and bush walker's paradise!
There is much to do at the farm - you can
feed our baby animals or cool off in the crystal clear rock pools; ride or walk - with a picnic - along the Bicentennial National Trail by day; or go spot lighting for native wildlife at night. Perhaps take your 4WD drive up some of the mountain tracks and enjoy the breathtaking views. Experienced rock climbers may also enjoy some of our unusual rock formations. You can even pack up one of our goats and go hiking.
If horse riding is your favoured past time then bring your four legged friend with you, or go for a ride on one of our horses. Ride the mountains mustering cattle, or ride along the meandering creek. You are welcome to take part in an Endurance training session, or actually you may like to actually participate in one of the locally-run Endurance Rides.
Accommodation at Fordsdale Farmstay - self contained or full board
At Fordsdale Farmstay we offer homestead accommodation to our guests. Stay in our self-contained 4 bedroom home, which sleeps 10 people, very suitable for families and friends. Or our 2 bedroom cottage which suites one family. Families preferring a full board farmstay holiday will be treated to accommodation in the guest rooms in the main homestead, with wonderful meals and lots of interesting activities included.

Trail Rides & Trail Riding Packages: Fordsdale Farmstay offers horse riding packages for the adventurous at heart. Enjoy a personalised horseback riding trail of 10, 15 or 20 km each day, or morning then afternoon if you prefer. Home-based trail riding packages available for 2, 3, 4 days or longer.
Fully catered stay with horse riding included is $165pp adult & $77pp child, 12 years and under, per day. Min stay 2 days.
Non-resident Trail Rides: We also offer horse trail riding for people who don't stay on the farm. We have a 2-3 hour ride either in the morning or the afternoon for groups of up to 5 people. On weekends and during the school holidays, we offer 1 hour rides for groups of up to 6 people. This is more suited to small children and beginner adults. We also have a lead rein ride for very small children of about 20-30 mins.

| Endurance Riding Horse Holidays at Fordsdale Farmstay |
Sue Renfree has been competing in Endurance riding since 1979. She has successfully competed in several prestigious endurance rides including the Tom Quilty Gold Cup, Stockman's Hall of Fame Ride, Q160, The Great Samford Endurance Ride and The Warwick to The Gold Coast. In recent times she has bred some impressive endurance horses and still competing.
The Queensland Endurance riding season starts at the end of January with some great 'Introduction to Endurance' seminars, followed by 20km Intro rides. The season then continues through the Australian winter until about October. Sue is offering Endurance Horse Holidays at Fordsdale Farmstay for enthusiastic and competent horse riding guests which will include the opportunity to ride in some of SE Queenslands finest rides. After the 20km Intro rides, there are 40km Training rides, 80km Open rides and prestigious 160km rides for top level competitors. Please contact Sue Renfree for full details.

Treat Yourself to a Romantic Getaway
This is an all inclusive horse riding package for 2 people and designed so you really can get away from it all. On day one, you'll mount up at 9.00am and depart Fordsdale Farmstay, heading across the mountains to Rockmount. You'll stop at a quaint old house for morning tea/coffee. After a break, you'll head to a pristine rainforest for a gourmet lunch. After lunch you enter the rainforest for a private tour by its owner and third generation caretaker. After this magical experience, you'll travel down the road a little further where you'll be greeted by Pam, the lovely owner of Tullaringa Lavender Farm and B&B. Here waiting for you is champagne and chocolates, and of course the spa. You'll spend a relaxing evening and a wonderful meal prepared by Pam. The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you saddle up and head off again, stopping again for morning tea/coffee with some wonderful locals. You'll ride on back to Fordsdale Farmstay for a BBQ lunch (some home bred T-bones of course). If you still have sufficient energy after lunch, there is a 4X4 tour awaiting you. Fordsdale is a 1000 acre cattle and goat grazing property with some fantastic views.

* Suits experianced horse riders only. Any number of people.
* Accommodation is camping, or if cold, railway carriage bunkhouse. Swag, tent, or bunk bed supplied.

Pack Goat Hiking
Fordsdale Farmstay, with the assistance of Gundiwidgee Pack goats, offers day hiking trips and overnight campouts with pack goats. Bush Walkers and Bird Watchers will enjoy a days walking the Ma Ma creek, as they travel along the Bicentennial National Trail. Goats are available for half or full day hire for those who wish to take a picnic on their walk.
