East Lodge Ridng School is approved by the Association of British Riding Schools and the British Horse Society and is also Council Licenced.

All riding abilities: We offer lessons for all abilities of rider from 4 years old and upwards. Whether you have never ridden a horse before or are an experienced rider who wants to jump or go hacking, we offer a friendly welcome!

Qualified Instructors: All our instructors are qualified with the BHS and ABRS societies, ranging from initial teaching award to the BHSII.

Training Programmes: We also offer a structured training programme for young people linked with Moulton College and Keats offering up to a 2 year course leading to NVQs 1-3 and ABRS and BHS exams.
We can offer the part time pleasure rider shorter courses. There is also the opportunity for regular riders to take advantage of our ABRS Riding and Stable Management tests.

Pony Club Centre: Recently we have become a "Pony Club" approved centre and shortly plan to hold club events. Clients under 18 will be able to join the PC for a nominal fee, and, you don't need your own pony!

Equestrian Facilities at East Lodge Riding School: Riding lessons are held in our spacious indoor school, with its own heated viewing Gallery or in the outdoor manege. There are also jumping paddocks, a cross country course. The stables enjoy the benefits of being connected to the working farm and there is glorious hacking on plenty of field and tracks with optional rustic obstacles to pop over on the way round. We can take experienced riders hacking on a variety of routes depending on the weather, ground conditions and previous experience.

How to Book at Riding Lesson or Hack at East Lodge Farm:
FIRST BOOKING - When you first book a ride or hack at East Lodge we will need your:
1) Name
2) Date of birth
3) Telephone number (and address if mobile)
4) Height and weight for large children or adults.
This is to ensure you have a suitable horse/pony. Please arrive ten minutes early for your first lesson so that you can complete a rider form, sort out a hat etc. When you book your first ride, don't worry if you haven't got the "Right Gear"! Sensible shoes or boots (No Trainers), comfortable trousers and we can fit a hat for you.

School Master Computer Booking System - once you have ridden at East Lodge, it is simple to re-book you and we will always be able to tell you which horse you last rode, which instructor taught your lesson or which route you went hacking!

IMPORTANT - if you change your telephone number or address please let us know (especially important for children who are on courses etc.)

We have Own a Pony Days, Teddy Bears Picnic rides, Cross Country Days, Show Jumping and Dressage competitions and clinics. Regular clients are encouraged to hire a steed and have a go.

We also offer courses during school holidays which are great fun especially in the summer when extra activities are available such as picnics, swimming and BBQs.

Paying for Lessons and Hacks: We are pleased to accept cash, cheque (with a valid bankers card) or credit card (not American Express). New riders may be asked to leave a deposit for their ride when booking. We also ask for as much notice of cancellation as possible - less than 48 hours notice 50% cancellation charge applies. Cancellations on the day or non arrival must be paid for in full.

At East Lodge your horse will have the best care and attention and you can choose from a full range of livery services.

Because the Livery yard is all part of the East Lodge Farm and Riding School, livery clients can enjoy the extensive equestrian facilities. There area also also regular competitions and clinics. If you need to brush up on your riding skills or just need a little extra help then you can take advantage of our experienced instructors and enjoy a lesson or two.

There are separate yards for livery horses, which have their own tack and storage areas. They are run and managed overall by our yard Manager, who also is aided by experienced, motivated and caring staff. We stipulate that there is always a member of staff on duty and horse owners can relax in the knowledge that the proprietors/family/staff live "On Site". The yard is secure and everywhere is locked and checked each evening.

Friendly advice is always available and we will also arrange the Farrier or Vet (cost is responsibility of the owner). Livery invoice bills are issued at the end of each calendar month and any extras such as clipping,exercise etc are added.
