Sola Rola Competition
The Sola Rola Competition will demonstrate how wheelchairs could be powered through electricity generated by solar energy – the technology developed here could also contribute to the welfare of disabled people in other less fortunate areas of the world.  Preparations for the SolaRola Adventure are now underway and we are hoping for help and support from all interested parties.   Everyone is welcome.  The enterprise is entirely dependent on voluntary contribution and effort.  All those approached so far have been extremely enthusiastic and encouraging.  Please join in if you can.

Royal Bath & West Horse Trials
March 8th - March 9th 2008 - The Royal Bath & West of England Society re-designed the layout for our One Day Event, supported by Sportsmatch - the next event is 8th & 9th March 2008.

The event aims at grassroots riders and runs Intro and Pre-Novice classes on both the Saturday and the Sunday. The horse trials are affiliated to British Eventing who have introduced a Day Ticket scheme which allows riders not registered with British Eventing the chance to have a go at the sport without the need for affiliation. However, some international riders will bring their young horses - the stars of the future. The Society is delighted to be running events for grassroots competitors, fitting well with its aims and objectives of promoting agriculture and rural practices and encouraging allied trades connected with the rural economy. By running the events, The Royal Bath & West hopes to involve local businesses and encourage participation from the local community by providing a service for local riders and eventing enthusiasts.

Entrance is £5 per car, to include all occupants and a programme. Dressage will start at approximately 08.30, show jumping at 0930 and cross country at 10.00 on both days.

For further details on British Eventing’s Day Ticket scheme contact British Eventing on 02476 698856.
