Woody Pet Horse Bedding is made from environmentally-friendly soft wood fibres which undergo an extreme heat process, extracting water, oils and dangerous hydrocarbons present in all untreated wood. It provides a dense, warm and dry-to-touch bedding making much more pleasant bedding for your horse. Woody Pet comes as small, granulated crushed pellets, in easy-to-manage (and carry!) 13.6kg (30lb) bags. One bag of Woody Pet will expand in volume (with added water) to the equivalent of one bale of shavings. It transforms from the granular pellets into soft, fluffy (non-spikey!) bedding when it absorbs water or urine.
Because Woody Pet is highly absorbent it reduces ammonia smells and creates a dryer bed, making it warm and comfortable for your horse.

1) An average 12’ by 12’ stable takes 6 bags to set up.
2) Remove Solids daily and turn the wet patches into the dry bedding.

There are so many different types of mats available that it is difficult to know which to choose. AB-FAB Rubber Mats are made from very high quality impervious rubber, which in itself will not harbour bacteria. There are no impurities in our mats and they have full recovery characteristics. This means there are no regrind/reconstituted materials and they are extremely flexible. |
The top is finished with a very effective ‘cobbled’ anti slip surface and the underside is grooved to allow drainage, where required. Drainage is not always essential. The choice of bedding used with the mats will determine whether drainage is needed and also govern the frequency with which cleaning beneath them is required.

Why should I use rubber mats in a stable?
Top-quality rubber mats will greatly improve the grip for a horse when rising or going down in a stable. They will insulate against cold strike on a concrete floor and allow 'give' underfoot, reducing strain on tendons and joints. It also means that less bedding is often required.
How do I care for Rubber Mats?
Ab-Fab Rubber Mats are naturally hard-wearing but a few precautions will ensure you get the most out of them:
1) Make sure the mats are carefully fitted, especially at any joints.
2) Use high absorbency bedding on top - this keeps the mat surface dry and fresh, providing a pleasant resting area for the horse and reducing the need for washing underneath.
3) Don't use metal forks to muck out - plastic ones are less likely to damage the rubber. |
