CREMTOR - THE PERSONAL SERVICE |
|
When the time comes to make the final decision for your horse or pony, using someone who understands what a difficult time it is for you will greatly help ease the pain and distress.
Cremtor is a licensed service for collection of horse, ponies and donkeys for cremation. We work closely with vets in the region and will attend clients once their horse has been put down. However, we are also licensed to dispatch horses if clients prefer.
Disposal of the body is no longer straightforward with changes in legislation regarding the burial of horses. Drugs that have been previously administered restrict options therefore increasingly incineration is a preferred choice.

Cremtor's Personal Service for Horse Clients... |
Sally Williams has run the operation of Cremtor for the past 30 years, dealing with all kinds of live and dead stock. Cremtor offers an efficient and experience service including collection, humane destruction and incineration/cremation of equines, other pets and all other farm stock including OTMS (Vets Certificate). All calls are dealt with personally by Sally or her daughter Sarah.
"This is a very difficult time for the horse owners and I like to offer a personal service to them. The horse is transported and taken to Cremtor. Not all owners want the ashes returned but it is a service we offer. This can help with the grieving process, and the owner can then bury the ashes in their horse's favourite paddock corner. With owners of older horses, I recommend that they plan ahead, so that when the day comes we can make everything as easy as possible for them, given the circumstances. Our service which is prompt and reliable and I am always happy to talk to horse owners and try and make this very difficult subject as stress free for them as possible." Sally Williams Cremtor will work with you to make things run as smoothly as possible. If preferred, your veterinary surgeon can carry out the humane destruction of the horse and we would collect the animal for cremation. Alternatively, we are able to offer the full service, including humane destruction, collection and cremation.
|
Communal Cremation |
This means that your horse will be cremated with other animals. It is a more cost effective method of cremation than an individual cremation. Some owners request a token of the ash and this can be supplied.
|
Individual Cremation |
| The horse is cremated individually and the ashes can be returned. It is important to be aware that the quantity of ash can be as much as 25 kilos. Wooden caskets can be supplied with an inscription plate. Some owners prefer to include an image of the horse and, if this is the case, we will need to be supplied with a photograph. The image is then lasered, in full colour, onto the inscription plate on top of the casket. |
Post Mortem |
| If your horse is insured and the veterinary surgeon wishes to do a post mortem, we have full facilities for this service at our premises. |
Other Farm Stock |
| Cremtor also deals with all other farm stock including OTMS Casualty (Vets Certificate). |
Pet Cremation |
| Cremtor offers a full cremation service for family pets. |
