THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE
The Golden Horseshoe endurance ride is held on Exmoor in May (2008 date is 11-13 May) of each year. The venue is at Exford Show Field, Exford, in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. There is a sponsored pleasure ride on the first day with the competitive rides starting on the second day. There is a 'shopping village' and all-day catering in the modern marquee. Route maps are available and there are plenty of spectacular viewing points on the course itself.

The Wessex Endurance Group
Wessex is the largest of EGB's regional groups, covering Wiltshire, Dorset & Somerset, as well as parts of Hampshire and Berkshire. Endurance riding can be loosely defined as 'competitive long-distance riding'. At the top level, it requires an almost scientific approach but it also provides plenty of scoope for riders whose ambition is simply to enjoy the sport to the best of their horse's ability.The aim of the Wessex Group is to provide information and support to members, whatever their aspirations.
