HoltBall (Herd 11) is our Exmoor pony herd prefix and is named after our farm in the Porlock Vale in Exmoor National Park. The stallion standing is multi-champion Hawkwell Versuvius . See the Foal Section below for progeny. See below for show results & performance table.
May 2010: Hawkwell Versuvius was awarded the 'Exmoor Pony Star 2009 - Runner Up!' This is a new competition where all EPS members are invited to vote for their favourite nominated pony. We would like to thank everyone who voted for Bear.

Dec 09: Dodson & Horrell 2010 Calendar: Bear features as 'July' in the 2010 Dodson & Horrell Calendar. He represents the Native pony breeds and promotes Dodson & Horrell's outstanding Ultimate Balancer feed.
Oct 09: Foal Inspections: We are delighted to announce that all foals sired by Hawkwell Versuvius in 2008 in his first year at stud have passed their inspections.
June 2009: Bear appeared on Countryfile on BBC1 on 21 June 2009.

Another good clinic with Rodrigo helped to encourage Bear to be forward thinking and light on the mouth. Current work is all about encouraging him forwards and enjoying ridden work. Outline will come later. |

| June 2010 - Royal Bath & West Show - Hawkwell Versuvius - Champion Exmoor (first show 2010) |
Bear stood CHAMPION EXMOOR (Judge: David Sykes) and made the Cuddy Qualifier final line-up (Judge: Henrietta Knight). We did not show Monty at Bath & West as we felt the day would be too hot and long for a yearling. With Bear in the Cuddy, we had definitely made the right decision as it was a long day.

We took two boys to the EPS Stallion Parade. It was Monty's first time out and he took it all in his stride. Both boys travelled well together and behaved very well. There was a superb turnout of senior stallions and youngsters and it is never easy showing them all together at this time of year!
