The Exmoor National Park Authority Exmoor Pony Herds...
Exmoor National Park Authority began owning ponies in 1980, as a way of preserving certain important bloodlines. Currently their ponies run on 3 areas of Exmoor moorland, at Warren near Simonsbath, North Hill near Minehead and Haddon Hill above Wimbleball Lake. These ponies carry out vital grazing on these areas - all of which are designated Sites of Special Scientiifc Interest and therefore nationally recognised for their conservation interest. Open access is available at these sites on foot and also via the rights of way network so it is possible to see these ponies though they roam a vast area so it is not always guaranteed.

Having a snooze....
