THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY SOUTH WEST - RIDING CLUBS

British Riding Clubs is legally and financially a department of the British Horse Society. Clubs affiliate to the BHS, and as a group form BRC. BRC’s 38,000 members are recorded separately to the 58,000 of the BHS. The RC Executive Committee is a policy-making committee of the BHS, and all Representatives who sit on that committee must be members of the Society, as well as a RC member. The BHS Board of Trustees are legally responsible for BRC finances, although the BRC budget is self-contained, and the reserves are in a restricted fund, which means they can only be used for BRC purposes.
