'Join us for the riding break or holiday of a lifetime'

Join a small group - maximum 6 experienced adult riders - for the riding break or holiday of a lifetime. You will explore the drovers trails, smugglers paths and hidden byways of this beautiful corner of south-west Wales.

We offer 3-day midweek breaks, 2-day weekend breaks and a full 7-day holiday (with a choice of a beach or country park ride on the 3-day or full week holiday) where you will enjoy comfortable en-suite accommodation, full cooked breakfasts and lunches, 3 course dinners and evening entertainment (if required), together with riding on 2, 3 or 6 days.

The prices are fully inclusive, apart from your choice of alcoholic beverages, transport and lunch on Wednesdays on the full week and midweek holidays. There is no single rider supplement.

Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire, the secret corner of south-west Wales where 'the land meets the sky and the sea.' The home of Britain's only coastal National Park, redolent with history from Iron Age Man, the Vikings and the Normans. Untouched by industry and with no shopping malls or motorways, Pembrokeshire offers the visitor small market towns, quiet roads (where even the motorists are courteous!), welcoming beaches and beautiful countryside where attraction and activities blend with their surroundings.

Whatever your reason for visiting, be it rest and recreation, or the need to be entertained, Pembrokeshire will suit your mood and leave you wanting to return.

Only 4 hours from London or Manchester, and you will step into another world where the air is fresh and clean and the locals are friendly. Our mild climate allows us to ride all year round - think of Camelot - that's Pembrokeshire! A county of contrasts, from the Preseli Hills in the north, the beautiful Gwaun Valley (where New Year is celebrated on January 13), to the fertile lowlands of the south with its ancient forests and woodlands. Blessed with a variety of beaches from the safe and secluded to those that challenge surfers, with offshore islands harbouring colonies of Puffins and other sea birds, and in whose seas you can watch seals, porpoises and dolphins. Caldy Island, the home of the Cistercian Monastery who produce their own perfume and chocolate, Fishguard, now a major ferry port, but also the site of the last attempted invasion by the French just over 200 years ago. Wherever you go in Pembrokeshire you will marvel at the beauty and history. St David's, the smallest city in Britain with its lovely 6th Century Cathedral - built in a hollow to hide it from sea borne invaders. Pembroke Castle, once a Norman stronghold and later the birthplace of Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty. Amroth and Wisemans Bridge where General Eisnehower and Winston Churchill stood on the beach watching the D-Day landing rehearsals in 1944.

Now, Pembrokeshire welcomes visitors of another kind, those seeking a break from the stresses of everyday life, an escape from traffic jams and crowded streets. Come and see for yourself - you won't be disappointed.

About us, the riding and our horses
For over 40 years, the Weaver family have owned and loved horses. Not a casual or passing love affair, but a deep passion for everything equestrian. From their first pony (an Irish Utility) Silver Melody in 1963 to their present day herd, their lives have revolved around horses.

It is also a love they have passed on to thousands of children and adults since they set up their present business. Based on their own experiences of riding holidays, they have now put together a 2-day, 3-day and full week riding holiday, where the emphasis is on riding, but coupled with comfortable accommodation and good food. Aimed at competent riders only (minimum age 17), each group of 6 riders and escort take a different route each day, covering all paces and stopping for lunch at a farmhouse or local Inn. No matter which holiday you choose, each full day will give you approximately 25 miles of varied terrain. Truly a riders paradise!

The Riding
Pembrokeshire is blessed with a profusion of permissive paths and bridleways. These, together with old drovers trails, smugglers paths and quiet byways lend themselves to full days on horseback. The rides take you through woodlands, ancient forests and over open countryside, traversing the Knights Way, discovering small, pretty villages that took their names from Norman knights nearly a thousand years ago. Each route has been carefully researched so that you, our guests, can experience a variety of terrains and travel at various paces. The optional beach ride, on the full week and 3 day break, takes place at Pembrey and is guaranteed to blow the cobwebs away. All lunches when riding are taken at a local farm or country Inn where fresh local produce is used. You may, if you wish, groom and tack-up your own horse each day.

The Horses
The horses range from Solomon, a 14.1 Cob Cross, described as a sturdy and comfortable ride, to Socrates an Irish Sports, a big beautiful well mannered baby and through to Saracen a full Shire. We have another 8 horses of different sizes, temperaments and types to choose from, all fit and forward going and will carry you over the various terrain at all paces.
