EQUINETOURISM.CO.UK - About Us
"The Horse - Where in this wide world can a man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy, beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined, he serves without servility, he has fought without emnity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent. There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient. England's past has been borne on his back. All our history is his industry. We are his heirs - his is our inheritance - The Horse."

"If you can get the horse to trust you, to want to engage with you, to genuinely want to be ridden/handled/interact with you - and to retain his true spirit, and to work within his comfort zone, while enabling him to learn new skills willingly - to want to try for you, look after you and to want to achieve - in a way that is not detrimental to his health, happiness, spirit and confidence - then you are on the road to good horsemanship."
Dawn Williams, founder of Equinetourism.co.uk

Promoting Good Horsemanship - Equinetourism.co.uk was launched four years ago to encourage people to get involved in more equestrian activities, promoting good horsemanship and horse welfare - and to increase understanding of horse behaviour and psychology. The initiative helps to put people in touch with experts, professionals and services, across all equine disciplines, and endeavours to promote quality establishments and equine businesses, where commitment to good horsemanship is paramount. You'll also find special editorial sections on wild and free-living horse and pony herds around the world, as well as information on riding terrain and horsemanship methods.

As published in the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of British Horse Magazine 'Horsy Holidays' feature...
"Equinetourism.co.uk promotes an extensive range of horse riding holidays, adventure treks and places to stay with your own horse across the Uk and worldwide. You'll find everything from wilderness treks in Mongolia to dressage training in Italy, farmhouse B&Bs on Exmoor to ranches offering cattle drives and spas in the USA and Canada.

You could watch the huge, desert sun set in Africa, swim with your horse in Cornwall, combine carriage driving with a spa break in Austria, and marvel at the volcanic vistas from the back of a beautiful Icelandic horse. Maybe you'd like to hire a horse for a week and explore the Emerald Isle, take a luxury Safari break, or try your hand at Polo in Argentina - it's your choice and there's something for everyone and for all levels of rider. Accommodation includes idyllic farmhouses with miles of off road riding, equestrian centres with residential facilities, and hotels and riding centres offering escorted rides and extra training.

This website also includes a full diary of equestrian Events, Shows and activities, so you can check what's on in the area you la to visit and enter a show, join a clinic, or maybe take part in a pleasure ride. Area and riding information will help you select your choice of terrain and outriding - from spectacular moorland vistas, to open beach gallops, or meandering forest trails and deep river coombes. The horse and pony breeds section profiles native and free-living breeds across the globe, promoting better understanding of the horses you'll meet on your trip - it may even be possible to take in a wild horse tour!

Equinetourism is unique in that it enables you to book through a tour operator, or directly with the destinations, and it puts you in touch with myriad equestrian centres and events and shows organisers - so you can truly plan your perfect holiday, training or competition. Equinetourism.co.uk has recently launched a series of useful Forums where you can research horse holidays, horse and pony breeds, events and shows and horsemanship methods - talking directly to ranch owners and horse holiday providers. The website attracted well over a million unique visits [15 million hits] in 2007 and provides an active, constantly updated information resource for selecting your next riding adventure.
